CAVES Guest Curator Program 2021
This year CAVES is accepting proposals for its inaugural Guest Curator Program.
Since CAVES opened in February 2015 the exhibition program has been by invitation only. Whilst this model is distinct from other artist run spaces, in 2021 we are excited to announce that applications are now open for our first guest curator program. (4 seperate exhibition opportunities)
Where? CAVES, Naarm, (Melbourne), Australia
When? 3 September– 25 September (Opening Friday, 3rd Of September)
1 October – 23 October (Opening Friday, 1st October)
29 October – 20 November (Opening Friday, 29th of October)
26 November – 18 December (Opening Friday, 26th of November)
How long? Each show is 4 weeks in length (please indicate a preference from the dates above)
Who can apply? Australian based curators, practitioners. This program is open to applicants at all stages of their career. People of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent are encouraged to apply.
What can be exhibited? We're open to experimental, critical, collaborative and interdisciplinary practices. (If you have a question about this please email firstname.lastname@example.org)
What will I/we get? $1500 to help realise the project, One 4 week exhibition free of rent, mentor support to develop the exhibition, marketing and invigilation.

📍Applications open Monday the 22nd of March and close on Friday the 16th of April, 2021 and must be received by midnight. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday the 30th of April, 2021.
*Please note the decisions will be reached by the CAVES committee and are final. Feedback will be given to unsuccessful applicants if requested.
