A Severed Head
Money coats the world. In successive waves beautiful prayers of attention scatter into every crevice– stashed in cupboards, under beds, wardrobes, and above in attics. The heft of steel is turned in knots, flattened so thin, animated and imbued with light by scores of voyageurs. Injection-moulded burgher world extravagances glide over oceans. Premium matte laminate gift bags, hung with nylon ribbon, are left in the lap of lovers. A hand is cast over the mouth to hide the creases but everyone knows what a yawn looks like.
It turned out, of course, that although we had in mind a tower that would reach the heavens, the supply of materials sufficed only for a dwelling that was just roomy enough for our business on the plane of experience and high enough to survey it
The covenant of The Ware is vast. The postman is lost in the flood of its intentions. If all this was a little less lubricated, nothing would work at all.
