Earlier this year I bought a second hand clock from the Camberwell Market. The clock had been modified with an ocean sunset collage and some of the numbers had been removed. I asked the seller about the missing numbers and she said:

“Yeah they had to go - I just don’t like those numbers.”

Smart Objects Awkward Relations is a series of new works based on a collection of objects. Acting as a timeline, the works are imbued with strange modifications, recurring themes and inbuilt neurosis.
